Modest Royale’s passion for helping women in need is deeply personal.
As a teenager, Modest found herself living at Covenant House New York, a shelter that provides refuge and support for young people facing difficult circumstances. During that season of her life, she met an extraordinary woman named Cynthia Blackman.
Cynthia saw potential where others may have only seen hardship. She believed in Modest, encouraged her, and invested in her future. Through simple acts of kindness, including providing MetroCards so she could travel from Brooklyn to Manhattan for school, Cynthia helped open doors that would change the course of her life.
At just 17 years old, Modest earned her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license. That opportunity became a pathway to stability, purpose, and a future she had once struggled to imagine. She would later become a nurse, educator, author, speaker, pastor and advocate for women.
But she never forgot Cynthia.
She never forgot what it felt like for someone to believe in her when she needed it most.
Today, through Modest Royale Outreach, that legacy continues.
We provide food, feminine hygiene products, clothing, personal care items, encouragement, and practical support to women facing difficult seasons of life.
Our mission is simple:
To be for another woman what Cynthia was for Modest.
Because sometimes a fresh start begins with a helping hand, a listening ear, and someone willing to say:
